Melinda Bunyard —”…women from all walks of life”
Today we are interviewing one of WIN NWA’s stars: Melinda Bunyard with Bunyard Leadership Development and Coaching. Melinda is a certified speaker, leadership trainer, and life coach with the John Maxwell Leadership Team, as well as the founder of Inspire Women’s Conference. She is passionate about helping others find their purpose, set their priorities, and live out their dreams. She has been married to Joel for 22 years, and together they have three teenage sons.
What do you do and why?
Bunyard Leadership Development and Coaching exists to help women find personal and professional success through coaching and leadership training. This might entail coaching a client through a career change, helping her set and reach goals, or offering training in communication and presentation skills as she is preparing for a big project or presentation at work. There is nothing that brings me more joy than helping others reach their full potential and live a fulfilling life. I find I can achieve that best through offering coaching and leadership development to women from all walks of life.
Who is your ideal customer?
My ideal customer is any woman looking to grow personally in order to maximize her professional life and advance her business. I have helped women negotiate promotions, win cars, grow their client base, clarify their purpose, and create strategies to make their dreams come true.
What does a day in your life look like?
My schedule varies from day to day. I love it when I can spend a whole day coaching clients across the country via Skype, but equally exciting is a full day of training leaders in a business setting to increase their influence or enhance their communication skills. I always begin my day with prayer and meditation and try to arrange my schedule so that I am available to my family when they need me.
What are your top resources for growth?
As a part of the John Maxwell Team, I have the most dynamic support system I could ask for in the form of our online university and leadership team. I am also certified as a DISC personality assessment trainer. These resources are limitless, and I am always discovering additional ways to use these resources to add value to women’s lives.
How has WIN helped you?
WIN has helped me grow in my understanding of the many ways women are doing business in NWA. I enjoy getting to know other professional women and learning about their lives and businesses.
If another woman in business asked for your best tip, what would it be?
My best tip for women in business is to stay clear on your vision and values and continue to set short and long-term goals to carry out that vision.
